Made some decisions

So after spending about a week (but what felt like a month) looking at a variety of ways to use my abilities (read: the English language and writing), I found a couple of things I'm going to stick with in order to make a living:

1. Creating, preparing and organizing lessons for my students.  I'm going to start from the bottom up: I'm going to work on creating a streamlined set of lessons that will develop into a full "course" for students who have zero to very little ability.  Ideally, these lessons will flow into each other, meaning no particular MUST end at any particular point.  If the students are quick, they can get through 2, maybe 3 lessons in one hour.  If not, we can easily stop off at any point and pick up next time.
2. Marketing my class and recruiting new students.  I've come up with several ideas for this which I will implement as soon as my classroom is set up and all the information is ready to go.  Hopefully by the end of July.
3. Entering my work into contests.  I have a number of short stories and poems that are ready for submission.  I'm going to start looking into what's available and what I am applicable for, and start submitting.
4. Helium: Helium seems to be a great platform for me.  They have a number of writing opportunities, including small poetry and fiction contests, as well as a ton of article writing work.  I've already written a couple poems there, which I am happy with, and have accepted a number of assignments, two fiction-based, two research/opinion-based.  I plan to go there regularly, at least once a week, to pick up new assignments.  They are fairly well-known, as far as I can tell, and will provide a great platform for exposure and/or critique, if not a bit of money in the mean time.
5. iWriter: Basically the same as Helium, except that their list of assignments is significantly smaller which means either I will be using them much less, or I will have to be more flexible in the types of assignments I accept, or both.  In any case, good practice.
6. Blogging: For right now I'm only going to maintain this blog, but I'll be working to improve it, learn more about blogging and also creating a new blog (or blogs) pertaining to topics I find relevant.

It's settled!  Now back to work.
