Had a good show last night. I haven't practiced in forever, but I had fun and I think I sounded pretty good. However, I wound up being up til 3am and had the lovely gift of a hangover the next day. Ugh. It's not that I mind the physical state itself, it's what it disallows me from doing. It seriously impedes my creativity. It makes me feel slow and sluggish. I've been taking breaks every 45 minutes or so.
When I'm well-rested, in a good mood, eating well and in shape, I can basically go all day, even into the night. Even just sleepy I can still be very productive. But this is akin to being ill. I had a very good time last night, but at this cost? I don't think it's worth it, not any more. I'd like to keep this in mind next time I'm out.
