weekend

The weekend is here and the place has changed. It's bustling, and there's lots of partiers here, lots of drunk people. It's a good day to play poker, but probably also a good day to go out. It's freezing here, though, I wasn't expecting that.

The weekdays are noticeably quieter, which is pleasant, but all these people mean a lot more poker action too.

Vegas is a fun town. I think you could spend weeks here with all the money in the world and still not do everything available. Considering "Vegas" is really only about 4 blocks (albeit four very long blocks), I think that's definitely saying something.

This trip was good for me. Truly, no man is an island. Next time I come here, I'd like to come with friends. And after that, on my own, but on a mission to make some friends and come out of my shell. I think if I were stranded here for any longer than two weeks, I would crack (nice imagery there; come out of my shell and crack). There's so much to do here, and everybody seems to know each other.

If I'm just out to play poker, I think going to a place with one major casino and just going there day in and day out would be better. Some place like The Crown or Foxwoods.

I've come to appreciate the life I have and the people I'm surrounded with back home more. I've got a taste of how tough it can be to come to a big city all by yourself, without knowing anyway.

On a side note, since I've had a lot of time to myself, I've had a lot of time to think, specifically, about the direction of my life. I think it's time I stopped putting off some more important, although tedious things in favor of more titillating instant satisfaction. Time to get my life sorted next year, and then go out and party it up like I earned it. For those of you reading, yes that means my life is going to change somewhat, so you're probably not going to see me as much. You're welcome to stop by any time, though. You know where I live.
