I am an amazing person. And I can say this without a tinge or hint of arrogance. Why? Because I believe we are equal.
Yes, despite what the media or politics or sociology would have you believe, we are equal. Certainly, others have more money, or better opportunities, or are more skilled at certain things. And on and on. But we are all equal in our potential.
I can say I'm amazing without a sliver of arrogance because I believe we all are. I believe we all are because I know that anyone can get to where I am or beyond. Many already have and are CONTINUING to get better, as I am. But we live in an amazing age. We live in an age where not only are we completely aware of our potential, but we have complete freedom to believe in it or deny it. We have complete freedom to pursue it or watch it atrophy in front of us. Everyone has that right, no one can take it away from you now. Our ancestors do not have that right, but we do now. You also have the right to squander it, or to allow it to diminish until it is so miniscule that you can't even see it, and thus feel justified in denying its existence.
Beyond this, we have hundreds if not thousands of people everywhere working to teach us ways to improve, to guide us through that improvement process. This was also not available to our ancestors.
I am pretty amazing at a number of things. But when I really, deeply and objectively consider them, there's not one thing that I am amazing at that no one else could get amazing at. Certainly, circumstances helped me along the way. But certain circumstances hindered me along the way as well, yet I still made it. We do not get to choose the speed at which we reach higher platforms, but we do get to choose in which direction we are going to move. How could anyone stop you? The worst they can do is make it much, much harder.
Nature is the only thing that will cause you to fail, and only momentarily. If you try to defy natural law you'll be hit hard. But as is her nature, you will be hit hard in a motherly way. Mother nature will tell you "you're not ready yet" and smack you down. Her purpose is not to derail you, or discourage you, but to align you with natural law. There is a process, and it is time-consuming. You must learn patience and perserverance. If you feel that you deserve a certain result before you have earned it, or you deserve it more than "others", nature will put you in your place. This is why you must learn to love the process, and simply strive to be in a better place than you are now, rather than in a place you think you deserve to be in.
