Vegas

Just arrived in Vegas about five hours ago. I immediately noticed a few things.

One, people in the US are very individual. I see a lot of "normal" people in Japan, and any non-conformists tend to flock together, so you tend to see them in bunches. Not so in America. There's an amalgam of types of people.
Also, people seem to feel compelled to be outgoing and sociable.

I felt something I didn't think I'd feel when I finally arrived at the hotel: loneliness. I've been spoiled in Osaka. I have lots of friends and lots of people who want to or are willing to spend time with me. Here, I know no one. But I'm here to play poker, so it's just a matter of adjusting to my newfound time alone. I'm going to enjoy it.

I think I would be more productive if I could find a way to recharge my iPhone, though...

a youthful nomad, occasionally assisting the locals in their quest for second language acquisition, often pondering trivial metaphysical questions, reading books, discussing things of no importance, going on adventures and playing a lot of poker.
